WHO WE ARE
New Life International is a movement of churches throughout the world and an association of ministers who enjoy fellowshipping together in the bonds of Christ. As ministers we are fellow servants who have an affinity in Christ, a special unity in purpose and warmth of relationship.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
NLI Churches are Evangelical Pentecostals. NLI churches believe in the fundamental truths taught in the Bible. There is an emphasis on the Lordship and Centrality of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit and the authority of the scriptures as the Word of God.

NLI MISSION STATEMENT
We are a God-inspired movement of member churches committed to glorifying Christ by:

  • PROCLAIMING the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit
  • IMPACTING our nation and beyond with God’s healing love
  • STRENGTHENING and multiplying churches and ministries

Each local church is autonomous as under God. We are not governed centrally. External advice, encouragement and counsel may be given but each church’s right to self-rule under the Lordship of Christ is observed. Our churches are in unity with a diversity of expression. Each local church may vary in its form of government, teaching emphasis etc.

Regional Leaders are nominated by the Pastors in each of the regions throughout the world. Where there are a large number of churches in a region, more than one leader may be nominated. These leaders meet together several times a year for fellowship, prayer, and accountability and to discuss that which can stimulate the Lord’s blessing amongst the churches. Other gifted leaders who can contribute to the wisdom and life of NLI may be co-opted to join in these gatherings. The National Leaders and National Administrators come from this group with such appointments being ratified at Pastors Conferences.

ADVANTAGES IN BELONING TO A MOVEMENT OF CHURCHES
  • CO-OPERATION - working together with a national movement is of great advantage.
  • COMPANONSHIP - comradeship that is fostered keeps Pastors from isolation and independance.
  • BEING PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER - this brings a sense of security for people in a local church.
  • EXCHANGE OF MINISTRY - interaction creates wealth through access to a variety of gifts and experience.
  • RESOURCES - NLCNZ distributes a range of resources – book reviews, tapes, reccomendations etc.
  • BALANCE AND OBJECTIVITY - by sharing with peers, balance comes through seeing different viewpoints.
  • INTER-DEPENDENCE - inter-dependence is important, a much more mature state than independance.
  • SYNERGY - by exchanging ideas and concepts, the corporate output becomes much more than the input.
  • ENABLES LARGER PROJECTS - Churches with a common objective can join with others to achieve greater results.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY - This brings responsibility and safety for leaders and people in a local church.
  • PROTECTION FOR THE LOCAL CHURCH - As families need fathers for counsel, so does a church.
  • A WORKABLE NATIONAL VEHICLE - it is easier to form relationships and work practically in a family of churches.
